Polina Petrovna Tynchenko

Polina Petrovna Tynchenko is the founder and first director of MBUK 'Giaginsky District Local History Museum named after P. P. Tynchenko'. She was born on January 1, 1926. In 1982 the Veterans' Council entrusted her with reviving the museum, placing it in the DOSAAF building. Active work collecting materials began in 1983. Polina Petrovna went from house to house among the stanitsa residents, gathering historical evidence of bygone years. Children and residents of the stanitsa brought photos, documents and items of Cossack household life to the museum.
In 1984 the district enterprises allocated funds and furnished one room in the DOSAAF building as a community museum, which opened on January 3, 1985. In 1997 Polina Petrovna Tynchenko retired at the age of 71.
