About museum
In 1978, Yevgeny Morozov, a party secretary, local historian, and member of the Union of Journalists of Russia, proposed establishing a people's museum in Sosnovka. In 1984, for merits in promoting monuments of history and culture, as well as for its contribution to the development of museum work, the museum was awarded the honorary title 'People's Museum'. It houses photographs by A. D. Zapolsky, on whose initiative a coeducational school for boys and girls was opened, as well as information about the working life of collective and state farms, awards received by winners of socialist competitions, and diplomas and trophies for participation in events in the district and beyond. The museum has more than 1,800 items in its collection, most of which are displayed in permanent exhibitions.
