Snezhinsk City Museum
About museum
On December 1, 1996, the museum, created together with the city's residents, was opened. Nearly 10,000 museum exhibits and collections from both the main and scientific-supporting funds were collected and registered, as well as more than 300 thematic and biographical folders, audio and video materials reflecting the history of the city and the surrounding area and the region's natural environment. The museum library holds more than 150 periodical titles and about 3,000 books and brochures, including several hundred local history publications. In November 2020, as part of the federal project 'Digital Culture' within the national project 'Culture', a virtual concert hall was established at the museum. It actively cooperates with local media, archives, and cultural-educational and cultural-outreach institutions. The museum offers city tours, talks and lectures for schoolchildren, practical genealogy classes, and informational and methodological assistance to pupils and students interested in the history of the city and region.
