Shlisselburg City History Museum
About museum
The Shlisselburg Museum was founded in 1990 and held its first exhibition in 1995. It is one of the youngest museums in the Leningrad Region and tells the history of the town of Shlisselburg. Its architectural appearance features canals and locks, a monument to Peter I, and a panorama of the Oreshek Fortress. The museum's collection includes over 6,000 storage units: collections of ethnography, documents and photographs, as well as a rich collection of the town's military history and the history of the Nevsky Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Plant, the history of the Ladoga technical section, etc. The museum's exhibition space is relatively small, so thematic exhibitions change 1-2 times a year. Audio guides are also available for visitors in Russian, German, Finnish and English.
