Sebezh Local History Museum
About museum
The Sebezh Local History Museum is one of the oldest museums in the Pskov Region and brings together features of the area's nature, local history and military activity. The museum exhibits a rich collection of mounted birds and animals of the Sebezh Lake District, archaeological finds from hillforts, settlements and barrow groups of the district. War and occupation have left their mark on the displays presented in the museum. Here you can see dugouts, items and photographs of partisans and underground fighters, weapons of the Red Army and partisans, as well as captured German armaments. Unique are the photographs of Sebezh during the war years and photo reports on the punitive expeditions of the fascists in the region, taken by a German photographer. The Sebezh Museum is a treasury of the history of our region, inseparably linked with the great events in the country's history.
