Kurganinsky Historical Museum
About museum
The 1960s–1970s were a time of improving the material well-being of collective farms in the Kuban region and of the development of museum work. In 1974 the Kurganinsky Historical Museum was opened, built thanks to the collective farm 'Kavkaz', whose chairman at that time was Andrey Petrovich Khomyakov. He sought to strengthen the cultural life of the kolkhoz members. The museum building was constructed from an individual design by Honored Architect of the RSFSR A. V. Titov and became one of the ornaments of the central part of the town. On the first floor were the exhibitions 'History of the stanitsa Kurgannaya' and 'History of the collective farm Kavkaz', and on the second floor — an art gallery. In 2007 an exhibition dedicated to the filming of the movie 'Kuban Cossacks' was added.
