About museum

The Museum of the History of the Submarine Fleet of VVMUP is located on the grounds of the Naval Corps of Peter the Great - VMI in Morsky Lane, Saint Petersburg. It features unique models of diesel and nuclear submarines, as well as fragments of real submarines. One of the models is equipped with a working mechanism, which attracts particular interest from young people. The museum also presents the history of the Lenin Komsomol Naval School of Submarine Navigation, which was established in 1944. Portraits of 13 Heroes of the Soviet Union and 4 Heroes of the RSFSR who attended this school are on display. In 1998 the Lenin Komsomol VVMUPP was merged with the Frunze Higher Naval School and became the Saint Petersburg Naval Institute. Here you can learn many interesting things about submarine shipbuilding and the heroic deeds of naval sailors.
