Alliluyeva Family Apartment Museum
About museum
Few people today know about the Alliluyev family, mainly Nadezhda, Stalin's wife. For those who do not appreciate the significance of the revolutionary events, the apartment museum in house No. 17 on 10th Sovetskaya Street will hold no interest. However, it should not be missed, since here you can see a rare example of pre-revolutionary domestic life with original items from that era. The Alliluyev family lived in the income house of Abram Leibovich Shmerko, built in the early 20th century in the Art Nouveau style. Father Sergey Yakovlevich worked at an electrical substation, and his wife Olga Evgenyevna was a nurse. With an average income of 140 rubles, they rented a four-room apartment of 78 sq. m., which at the time was considered equipped with the latest conveniences. Lenin hid here from arrest, and from August 1917 to March 1918 Joseph Stalin lived here.
