Osinniki City Local History Museum
About museum
In 1970 the Local History Museum was founded in Osinniki. Just two years later it was located on the first floor of the building on Sovetskaya Street, and the museum's collection amounted to about 4,000 storage units. It featured collections of 20th-century and contemporary ethnographic materials, numismatic items, and mineral resources. The museum also presented the history and development of the region and the city through documents, books, newspapers, photographs, and personal belongings of delegates to party congresses, participants in revolutionary events, and participants in the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars. In the same year the museum was granted the status of "People's". By 2021 the number of exhibits reached 25,000 storage units. They include museum items gathered by the city's local historians as well as gifts from residents. The museum displays collections on a variety of topics, including unique mineral resources, minerals and rocks of Siberia and Osinniki, and ethnographic materials on the life and everyday practices of the indigenous peoples and the Shors of southern Kemerovo Oblast.
