Novokuznetsk Local History Museum
About museum
Novokuznetsk Local History Museum is one of the largest museums in Kemerovo Oblast and the oldest in Kuzbass. It was opened on November 7, 1927 in Kuznetsk. In 1955 the museum moved and occupied the first floor of a residential building, where it is still located. In 1985 a new exhibition opened, which remained until 2011 when the museum underwent major renovation. In 2014 a new exhibition was opened in accordance with the best museum and technical practices. Over the years the museum has been visited by more than 5 million people. It is a true cultural center of the region, offering visitors a full immersion into the history and culture of Kuzbass.
