Ust-Kubinsky District Local History Museum
About museum
In 2006 a municipal cultural institution, the Ust-Kubinsky District Local History Museum, was established in the Ust-Kubinsky District; it displays exhibits collected in 1986 by an expedition led by A. A. Rybakov. In 2011 the museum moved to the building of the former heated Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, built in 1848. In 2012 the construction of a new exhibition was completed. The museum presents the district's history, spiritual and cultural heritage, and the development of crafts, trades, and industries. The museum hosts various events, including tours, lectures, conferences, meetings, and celebrations. A branch of the museum is "Nikolsky Park" — the natural monument "Old Park" with an area of 12 hectares, where activities are carried out to preserve and restore the park, and to research and popularize its history and nature.
