Kuzma Minin Museum
About museum
Kuzma Minin Museum is a unique place that was opened on November 4, 2009, in the Center for Supplementary Education “House of Moscow” to celebrate National Unity Day. It houses authentic exhibits from the 17th to the early 20th centuries belonging to the town of Balakhna — the birthplace of the great patriot Kuzma Minin, the savior of the fatherland. The museum's exhibits allow visitors to learn about the feat of the Second People's Militia of 1612 and its leaders — Kuzma Minin and Prince Dmitry Pozharsky. In addition, the museum regularly hosts various events that shed light on the history of the Time of Troubles, as well as concerts, exhibitions, talks, and processions. Also, on May 21 and November 4, ceremonial events are held on the square by the statue of Kuzma Minin. Concerts, exhibitions, talks, and festive processions are also held here.
