Museum of the History of the Troops of the Order of Lenin of the Leningrad Military District

On the third floor of the building that formerly served as the Assembly of the Russian Army and Navy (an architectural monument of the second half of the 19th century) is the Museum of the History of the Troops of the Order of Lenin of the Leningrad Military District. It has been operating since 01.09.1964 and is engaged in preserving and developing its collection, which includes more than 2,020 items, of which 266 are presented in the museum's exhibition. The exhibitions reflect the history of the Petersburg, Petrograd and Leningrad military districts from 1864 to the present, and also feature paintings, small arms and uniforms from the Great Patriotic War. The museum is a non-profit institution specialized in history and is not primarily aimed at generating profit. It is subordinate to municipal authorities and carries out cultural, public and research activities.
