V.F. Raevsky Decembrist Museum
About museum
In 1959, geography teacher E. P. Titov laid the foundations of the V.F. Raevsky Decembrist Museum. He ran a local history club and collected regional finds during expeditions to the villages of Kulakova, Ponomarevo and others. In 1966 a decision was made to create a school museum based on the fact that the first Decembrist V.F. Raevsky had lived in Olonki. In 1974 the museum was included on the "Travel Bureau" route and became municipal with legal status. Today it displays banknotes and numismatics, ethnographic, archaeological and paleontological items, materials on the history of the native region, authentic belongings of V.F. Raevsky, historical materials about the Alexandrovsky Central, and items found at the sites of battles between the Soviet Army and the forces of General V.O. Kappel. In addition, the museum exhibits items related to the Great Patriotic War.
