The museum is an integral part of the history of the Tuzha District and attracts many visitors. The Tuzha District Local History Museum was opened on November 4, 1989, and is one of the museums of the Tuzha District of Kirov Oblast. The founder of the museum is A. A. Kozhevnikov, a two-time recipient of the Excellence in Public Education award, a teacher at the Tuzha secondary school, a World War II veteran, and an honorary citizen of the settlement of Tuzha. The museum features five thematic exhibitions dedicated to the history of the settlement, wartime, nature, peasant life, and the present day. The museum's main tours cover a variety of topics such as the history of the Tuzha District, nature, wildlife, Mari national costume, Tuzha during the years of the Great Patriotic War, the region's wealth, water resources, the izba as a trove of mystery, and the history of the samovar. Visitors can view interesting collections of samovars, Mari national costumes, and model airplanes. The museum is an integral part of the history of the Tuzha District and attracts many visitors.
