Museum "Literary Life of the Urals in the 19th Century"
About museum
This is one of the little-known addresses of the famous writer D.N. Mamin-Sibiryak. The house belonged to Maria Yakimovna Alexeyeva, with whom Dmitry Narkisovich shared a scandalous and tragic love story. Today it is a museum that not only reflects the most productive Yekaterinburg period of the writer's work, but also presents the literary life of the Urals in the 19th century. Here you can view documents about well-known Yekaterinburg residents — contemporaries of Mamin-Sibiryak — as well as the city's theatrical and musical life of that time. The atmosphere of those times is recreated at musical evenings, literary salons, and during private readings, which are often part of the museum's regular program.
