B. K. Gindze Anatomy Museum
About museum
Boris Konstantinovich Gindze became the first head of the Department of Animal Anatomy and Histology at the K. A. Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in 1935 and laid the foundation for the educational and scientific anatomical museums. He conducted research on the arterial system of the brain in humans and domestic animals, which is why the museum houses a collection of mammalian cerebral vessel specimens. The scientific section of the museum contains specimens on the anatomy of animals from various groups, as well as the collections of V. Ya. Brovar and V. I. Ippolitova. The educational exhibition contains detailed anatomical materials for independent study by students. The museum also features collections of osteological specimens, muscle, neuromuscular and neurovascular-muscular preparations, and preparations of the digestive, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive systems, as well as of the skin and sense organs.
