A. S. Pushkin Memorial Museum-Dacha
About museum
The A. S. Pushkin Museum-Dacha was opened in 1958 in Pushkin, the former Tsarskoye Selo. It is located in a one-story wooden building constructed in 1827 by the architect V. M. Gornostayev and formerly belonging to the widow of the court valet, A. K. Kitaeva. A. S. Pushkin rented eight rooms here and lived with his young wife from May to October 1831. The interiors of the rooms, reconstructed from contemporaries' recollections, and the museum's exhibition materials tell about the poet's life and work during this period. On the mezzanine a study of the poet has been recreated, where many of his masterpieces were written. The exhibition includes a section dedicated to the stays in Tsarskoye Selo of N. M. Karamzin and V. A. Zhukovsky. Here visitors can enjoy the delights of Pushkin's family summer, view his letters, and spend time with friends.
