V. P. Astafyev Literary Museum

About museum

In the very center of Krasnoyarsk stands a unique wooden mansion in the 'wooden Art Nouveau' style of the early 20th century - the V. P. Astafyev Literary Museum. It was opened in 2000 and operated until 2010. In 2014 a new exhibition, 'Dreams of Siberia', was opened in this museum, which became a sign of the revival of the tradition of celebrating the Day of Thanksgiving to Siberia. This holiday has been observed by Siberians since 1881 in memory of the 300th anniversary of Yermak's arrival and their ancestors. The Literary Museum became a center for the dissemination of the values and traditions of great Russian literature, including Siberian literature.
