Kesovogorsky Local History Museum
About museum
In 2004 the Kesovogorsky Local History Museum was established; its initiator was A. V. Pelyovin, the former head of Kesovogorsky District. A memorial plaque in his memory is mounted on the museum's façade. Since 2005 the museum's director has been Alla Alekseevna Samolyotova. It is housed in a two-storey log building built in the Russian style. The museum's collection comprises about 2,000 items. Eight exhibitions devoted to various aspects of the history of Kesovogorsky District are on permanent display. The museum regularly holds guided tours, exhibitions, various celebrations and readings. Regular visitors include veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home-front workers.
