Karaginsky District Local History Museum
About museum
On May 28, 1984 the museum was established by V. Lazarev — a participant in a long-distance dog-sled race recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. At first there were about one hundred exhibits collected by V. and A. Lazarev. On November 22, 1993 the museum was opened in a new building, and on May 28, 2008 — in the hall of the art department and the diorama 'Koryaks'. The museum's halls present decorative and applied arts and the history of the district, as well as the art department. The museum's collections consist of more than 350 exhibits, including items of national art and everyday life of indigenous peoples and Slavic culture, some of which are of significant value.
