The Degtyarsky Historical-Industrial Museum of the Degtyarsk Mining Administration was first opened on July 17, 1987 — on the eve of the Metallurgist's Day celebration. In 2002 the museum became municipal, but the main focus of its work remains unchanged — "to be a mirror of events." Its work is aimed both at collecting objects and museum collections and at carrying out humanitarian educational activities. The museum presents a rich educational collection covering the period from 1904 to 1999. Work continues to collect materials about events taking place in the town that have historical value. The exhibits and photographs in the two halls — the "Historical-Industrial" and the "Great Patriotic War 1941–1945" — recreate the color and character of different historical eras in the biography of Degtyarsk.
