A. A. Shtukenberg Geological Museum of Kazan University was founded on 17.11.1804. It is located in the building of the former Spiritual Seminary, built in 1734–1740, which is now a historical monument of the city of Kazan. The museum houses more than 400,000 exhibits from 60 countries, including 125 meteorites. The permanent exhibition features 13,000 specimens of ores, minerals, crystals, oil and gas condensate. The museum's hallmark is a complete mammoth skeleton. In addition, visitors can see photographs and other materials from research carried out over two centuries. The museum offers workshops for schoolchildren and professional training for geologists. Thus, the museum has become not only a place to view exhibits but also a valuable source of knowledge.
