Art Department of the Tchaikovsky Historical and Art Museum
About museum
The Art Department of the Tchaikovsky Museum was established thanks to the Moscow collector A. S. Zhigalko, who donated his collection of paintings and graphics in 1969. The department features a variety of exhibitions, for example: 'Russian art of the late 18th — early 20th centuries', 'Kasli and Kusinsky castings', and 'Works by polar artist I. P. Ruban'. The main exhibition includes works by I. A. Aivazovsky, V. A. Tropinin, V. E. Makovsky, N. E. Sverchkov, and D. D. Burliuk. Special attention is given to I. I. Shishkin's works 'Road through the Ravine' and 'Forest', as well as the landscape 'Chumaky' by I. K. Aivazovsky. The museum houses paintings, graphics, porcelain, sculpture, posters, and items of decorative and applied art. Visitors can enjoy masterpieces by great masters and take away an unforgettable impression.
