Historical and Local History Museum of the village of Tatarka
About museum
The Historical and Local History Museum of the village of Tatarka was established in 1997 and has been a branch of the Stavropol State Museum-Reserve since 2005. It presents the history of the village, its inhabitants and their culture from the time of its founding to the present. The main part of the exhibition is ethnographic, telling about the everyday life and occupations of the villagers of Tatarka in the 19th–20th centuries. Visitors can also see a recreated fragment of a rural cottage interior, various ethnographic costumes, household items, tools and works by local craftsmen. The museum also provides information on the revival of Cossack traditions. A special place is given to the topic of the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945), including authentic items of military life, uniforms and equipment of Soviet Army soldiers, as well as frontline letters and photographs.
