In the former mosque, in 1913, a building was erected at the initiative of the Muslim community of Stavropol that became one of the city's ornaments. In 1987 a gallery of landscape paintings by the Honored Artist of Russia and honorary citizen of Stavropol P. M. Grechishkin was opened here. The occasion for its opening was the artist's gift to the city of a collection of 167 canvases. Currently the gallery's holdings have grown to 490 paintings and 50 graphic works. The mosque building is a historical and cultural monument and is protected by the state. The gallery invites visitors to immerse themselves in the world of P. M. Grechishkin's art and to feel the full depth of his spiritual world.
