V. L. Pushkin House-Museum
About museum
In an old wooden mansion on Staraya Basmannaya Street the memory of Vasily Lvovich Pushkin has been preserved — a great poet of the early 19th century. In the 1820s he lived in this house, and in 1811 the appearance of his poem "The Dangerous Neighbor" became a literary sensation. Today the interior of a nobleman's mansion of the first third of the 19th century has been recreated in Pushkin's House-Museum; exhibitions, creative meetings, poetry and music evenings, and performances for children and adults are held here. The walls of this house keep memories of Pushkin himself, who visited here as a guest. His first mentor in poetry, the poet's uncle, also lived here. Many valuable memories and stories about Pushkin have been preserved in this house, which makes it an excellent place to visit.
