The House-Museum of Jalil Kiekbaev is located in the center of the Gafuriysky District of Bashkortostan, in the village of Karan-Yelga, where this outstanding scholar and writer was born. The museum consists of four sections. The first contains exhibitions dedicated to the childhood and youth of Jalil Kiekbaev; the second covers his student years and his literary and creative activities. The third room is devoted to his work as an outstanding scholar-linguist and public figure. The fourth is the section “The Life of J. G. Kiekbaev – an example of selfless service to the people.” The museum houses about 1,000 exhibits, including the scholar’s personal belongings, letters and manuscripts, letters from friends and memoirs of many scholars. Guided tours focus on the life and work of Jalil Kiekbaev, his students, the history of the Kese-Tabyn clan, the history of the village of Karan-Yelga, the genealogy (shezhere) of the Kiekbaev family, the laureates of the Jalil Kiekbaev Prize, and the history of the creation of this museum.
