Bagrationovsk Regional History Museum
About museum
The Bagrationovsk Regional History Museum is located in the 'Kreishaus' building, constructed at the beginning of the 20th century. On September 11, 1993 a permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of the Bagrationovsk District of the Kaliningrad Region was opened. The museum's collection comprises about six thousand items, including archaeological finds, a hoard of coins, engravings, commemorative medals, awards, and elements of military uniform. Particularly notable is Katarina Klein's postcard collection — more than a thousand illustrated postcards from the early 20th century. The museum hosts art exhibitions as well as scholarly conferences on the topic 'Eylau 1807 and East Prussia in the era of the Napoleonic Wars.' Visitors can take guided tours of the permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions, as well as an overview tour of the town of Bagrationovsk.
