Their organizer is the Kirov Regional Museum of Local Lore named after P.V. Alabin.
In 2025 the world-famous Russian romantic writer Alexander Stepanovich Grin (1880–1932) will turn 145 years old.
A nationwide event, the All-Russian Grin Readings "A.S. Grin. Museum. Modernity (on the 145th anniversary of A.S. Grin)", is timed to coincide with this anniversary. The organizer is the Kirov Regional Museum of Local Lore named after P.V. Alabin.
The main areas of focus at the readings are expected to be: Grin’s creative work and his literary legacy; representations of the writer himself and the heroes of his works in art; the Grinevsky family in Vyatka; the teaching of A.S. Grin’s works in general education institutions; local history research and its role in the development of regional cultures.
A separate section of the readings will be devoted to student research projects. Its participants will consider the personality of A.S. Grin and his works through the eyes of schoolchildren.
Conference participants are expected to include heads of educational organizations and cultural institutions, philologists, Russian language and literature teachers, library and museum professionals, and cultural scholars.
The readings will be held on September 23–24, 2025. Detailed information and the application form are available on the regional museum’s website muzey43.ru in the "For Specialists" section.
We remind you that 2025 also marks the 45th anniversary of the opening of the A.S. Grin Museum in Kirov. In 2024 the museum building was restored. The opening of the renovated exhibition took place on December 28 and became a real gift to Kirov residents and guests of the New Year’s Capital. To date the renovated Grin Museum has already been visited by more than 2,000 people.
