Today, August 27, 'Alexandrovskaya Sloboda' turned 105 years old. On this day in 1919 the corresponding document was issued certifying its establishment. The beautiful anniversary at the museum-reserve was celebrated beautifully and with dignity last Saturday. At least, that is the opinion of the organizers, district leaders, participants and witnesses of the festival 'Ivanov Day. Grozny FEST'.
Says Marina Konstantinovna Rybakova, Acting Director of the museum-reserve 'Alexandrovskaya Sloboda':
'For the first time we are holding this celebration in a new format — "Grozny FEST" — to emphasize its tsarist theme and, for the first time, to use it to open City Day. We reconstructed the life of a medieval town, its everyday life, its crafts, and for the first time are showing how the theme of the oprichnina capital can be transferred into the present. For example, today we have the motorcycle club "Oprichniki" as our guests — the tsar's men, the first club of policemen; they are very popular with young people.
I want to say that preparing such a festival is quite difficult, but we want to show that this event brings people together, unites everyone around the main historical theme for our 'Alexandrovskaya Sloboda', which in the 16th century was a medieval capital. The best of the best created there. And today we also have the best masters at the Poteshny Court! And the team performed simply wonderfully, beyond all praise. Colleagues united as one, as one big family. We bring people joy in such a difficult time.'
Her opinion is shared by Anna Vasilievna Kuznetsova, Head of the Administration of the Alexandrovsky District:
'Alexandrovskaya Sloboda is our pride, our love, the historical core of our town, a landmark place in the whole Vladimir Region, a place where the history of our country's statehood was made.
It is very joyful that a tradition has been born: opening City Day with "Ivanov Day." We value this very much. It is a sign of continuity between generations, a sign of the uninterrupted nature of our centuries-old history, a sign of our unity and the greatness of our people.'
'I traditionally love to attend "Ivanov Day" with my family. We saw everything — fiery musical groups, various master classes, an extensive and tasty range of vendors, an exhibition of weapons, incredible biker-oprichniki and, of course, a creative theatrical production. I thank the museum staff of the Sloboda who organized this celebration, and it's great that this festival opens Alexandrov's City Day. Happy holiday to everyone!',
- said Alexander Valeryanovich Nefedov, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Vladimir Region.
The museum staff sincerely thank all guests for their kind words; we will certainly publish all feedback on our channels and once again express our heartfelt thanks to those who helped make and hold the festival so successfully. The post-festival positive afterglow will last a long time, but some preliminary results can already be summed up. Thus, from 12:00 to 16:00 more than 3,000 guests visited Ivan the Terrible's Poteshny Court, which is a record for the entire history of the celebration. About 70 groups of 2 to 5 people took part in the museum's "geographic" survey, having arrived at Ivanov Day independently with family or friends. Monitoring results are as follows: guests came from Volgograd, Kaliningrad, Saint Petersburg, Orel, Ivanovo, Vladimir and the region, and the Moscow Region (Mytishchi, Korolyov, Istra, Sergiyev Posad, Orekhovo-Zuyevo). The main informants and promoters of the festival (according to respondents) were the museum's pages on social networks and the 'Alexandrovskaya Sloboda' websites. Visit our resources, view them, subscribe and come for the atmosphere! Thank you all!
