On October 2, a new exhibition 'Planet "Mikhtim" or The Magic of Physics' (0+) opened at the 'Diorama' museum and exhibition center (a branch of the Kirov Regional Museum of Local Lore named after P.V. Alabin).
The project was provided by the M.T. Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Complex of Small Arms (Izhevsk).
“This is an exhibition for everyone who is interested in unusual natural phenomena and wants to understand how the laws of such a fascinating science as physics work. The name is simple to explain: Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov signed his early contest works with the pseudonym ‘Mikhtim’. Using his example we show what can be achieved thanks to an interest in technical creativity,” the project authors said.
The traveling interactive exhibition for children and adults introduces the laws of physics in an educational and entertaining format.
Visitors will see 'magic' bicycle wheels, the famous 'Bernoulli fountain', an infinite corridor, tricks with mirrors and magnets. All exhibits can and should be touched, played with and experimented on: you can shoot from air and magnetic cannons, play an original musical instrument, and even try to 'control' lightning.
“Through fun and original experiments, children will study mechanics, electromagnetism, oscillations and waves, mirror optics, and develop an interest in physics and technical creativity. And today this is especially important, because the technical sciences play an important role in the modern world. Studying the exact sciences is necessary for the emergence of modern specialists and for increasing the efficiency of industrial enterprises,” emphasized Yuri Balyberdin, director of the regional museum of local lore.
The exhibition will also be available for visits using the Pushkin Card. It will run until November 28.
