Museum and Exhibition Center 'Diorama'
About museum
In December 1977 the diorama museum 'Vyatka. 1917' was opened on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the October Revolution, and since 1998 it has been transformed into the Museum and Exhibition Center 'Diorama'. The authors of the diorama are A. I. Intezarov, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, and N. N. Solomin — now a People's Artist of Russia. Sculptors and masters of battle painting from the military artists' studio named after M. B. Grekov participated in creating the architectural and artistic concept of the Diorama. The centerpiece of the diorama is a large three-dimensional canvas covering 280 square meters, recognized as one of the finest works of art in Russia. The Diorama building is shaped like an unfurled banner, and its exhibition 'The History of Vyatka in Events and People' tells of pre-revolutionary Vyatka, the lives of merchants and the traditions of a provincial governorate town. The MEC 'Diorama' runs a Children's Center where tours and activities are aimed at all age groups, and recreational programs allow children to gain more knowledge and spend their leisure time in an interesting and useful way.
