About museum
On May 8, 2020, a ceremonial opening of the Military-Historical Center "Marshal of Victory — G. K. Zhukov" was held in Kaluga; it is a branch of the Kaluga United Museum-Reserve. The initiator of the center's creation was the chairman of the Kaluga regional branch of the Committee for the Memory of Marshal of the Soviet Union G. K. Zhukov — Nikolai Ivanovich Almazov. The museum houses an interactive exhibition dedicated to the legendary military leader Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov and the Berlin offensive operation, as well as authentic items, photographic materials, and examples of Soviet and German weaponry. At the museum, visitors can follow the breakthrough of the Seelow Heights, the street fighting and the capitulation of German forces, and learn about the final operation of the Great Patriotic War that brought an end to Hitler's Germany and saved the world from Nazism. Visitors to the museum can touch the heroic pages of 20th-century military history.
