Tambov Museum of the History of Agricultural Development of Amur Oblast

\r\nOn February 1, 1996, a local history museum was opened in the village of Tambovka, Amur Oblast. It was initially located in a small assembly hall of the district House of Culture. Lina Parfenyevna Ilyashik was appointed director of the museum; she served in this position for 18 years, after which she retired. In November 1997 the museum moved to a separate building and was repurposed as the Tambov Museum of the History of Agricultural Development. It houses 12,365 items in the main collection and 4,882 items in the scientific and auxiliary collection. Visitors can see a collection of ethnographic and household items of peasants from the late 19th century and of rural workers of the 20th century. The museum has 6 exhibition halls: 'Settlement of the Amur Region', 'Crop and Livestock Farming in the Tambov District in the 20th Century', 'History of Soybean Cultivation in the Amur Region', 'Gallery of Heroes of Socialist Labour', 'Nature of Our Land', as well as a 5th hall and a foyer used for temporary exhibitions.
