Tagninsky Ethnographic Museum
About museum
In 2012, a branch of the 'Ethnographic Museum in the village of Tagna' was opened in Zalarinsky District. It is housed in two historic buildings of the Tagna medical station, which have been designated as monuments of local cultural heritage. The museum's collections include more than 1,000 items. The local history department presents five exhibitions, including the 'Bear Corner' with huge taxidermy mounts of the taiga's masters, and the fishing department displays the toothy mouth of a 14-kilogram pike. The ethnographic department features six exhibitions, including 'Household Items', where visitors can see a mill, a winnowing machine and a wooden lathe. The final exhibition is dedicated to the Tagna military hospital, where guests are greeted at the entrance by models of wartime heroes. Here you can see soldiers' beds, aluminum cookware and old telephones.
