Kaysyn Shuvaevich Kuliev (1917–1985) — a renowned Balkar poet, awarded the Lenin and USSR State Prizes. In his final years he lived in the house that was later turned into a museum, and created the novel "It Was Winter", the novella "Run, My Donkey" (B. Polevoy Prize, 1986), "Love Remains Forever" (Ogonyok magazine Prize, 1985), "Man. Bird. Tree" (Lenin Prize, 1990) and other poetry collections. According to K. Sh. Kuliev's last will, he was buried in the garden of his house, and a monument was placed on his grave (sculptor — M. Tkhakumashov). The House-Museum's exhibition consists of two parts — literary and memorial. The literary part is organized on a historical-chronological principle and presents the main stages of Kuliev's life and creative biography. The memorial part includes the study, living room, bedroom, wing (annex), estate and garden. On the grounds of the house-museum there are the residential house-museum, a gazebo and a monument to K. Sh. Kuliev.
