Sosvinsky Ethnographic Park-Museum 'Naiotyr Maa'
About museum
In 1990, at the initiative of the Mansi language teacher at the Sosvinskaya secondary school and Mansi folklore collector Anfisa Mikhailovna Khromova, the ethnographic park-museum 'Naiotyr Maa' was established. She sought to preserve and transmit to future generations the distinctive Mansi culture that enabled survival in the region's extreme conditions. On the territory of the park-museum an exhibition 'Material and Spiritual Culture of the Mansi' was created, representing a replica of a settlement with traditional dwellings and household outbuildings located in the forest. To reproduce as realistically as possible the semi-nomadic way of life of the Mansi in the past, the park's territory was divided into three parts.
