Tashtypsky Municipal Local History Museum
About museum
On February 23, 1996, a museum was opened, located in the center of the village in the building of the former parish school, which dates back to the beginning of the last century. This one-story structure of handmade brick has arched window openings and a wooden ceiling. The facade, windows, and doors are decorated with patterned brickwork. The roof of the building is hipped with an inclined rafter system; it was originally metal and has now been replaced with slate. The walls reach up to 0.8 m in thickness. According to local historian M.P. Zakharov, the building was constructed at the same time as the Tashtyp Church of the Nativity of Christ in memory of the holy apostles Peter and Paul, between 1831 and 1835. In addition, there is a supposition that the building was constructed as the priest's house and clergy quarters in 1883 when the Tashtyp parish school was opened in the stanitsa. The museum's permanent exhibitions include a memorial hall, the creative heritage of the Tashtyp region, an ethnographic hall, as well as a new exhibition "309th Piryatyn Division...".
