About museum
The museum houses more than three thousand works of art representing the artistic creations of various peoples and cultures. The museum also includes a collection of antiquities and archaeological artifacts. The museum was established in 1960 as part of the Biological Institute of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. It comprises several exhibitions and a scientific collections fund that contains over 13 million storage units covering some 600 families and 26,000 species of vertebrate and invertebrate animals. In addition, the museum has more than three thousand works of art representing the artistic creations of various peoples and cultures, as well as a collection of antiquities and archaeological objects. The museum is an excellent example of how scientific collections and works of art can be preserved and presented to the public.
