About museum
On March 30, 1913 the Charter of the 'Society' was registered with the aim of establishing an Art-Historical Museum in Ryazan. It took care of the development and popularization of fine and applied arts by collecting works and accepting them as gifts. Today the museum's collection consists of more than 12 thousand works of various types and genres of art by Russian and Western European masters of the 15th–20th centuries. The museum regularly holds exhibitions from its own collections, as well as solo and group exhibitions of contemporary artists. The best works from the collection are presented at international exhibitions.
