Novosokolniki District Local History Museum
About museum
On February 23, 1967, the People's Museum was established in the Vorovsky House of Culture. In 1994 it moved to the building of the former library and was granted local history museum status. The exhibits in the first hall will introduce you to the history of Novosokolniki and the nature of the Novosokolniki region. The second hall showcases noble families who brought glory to the Fatherland. Special attention is paid to the Kirpichev brothers: Viktor and Nil. The museum also preserves letters and poems by Alexander Krenitsyn, who lived at the Mishnevo estate from 1828 to 1865. The Hall of the History of the Great Patriotic War tells of the feats of our countrymen during the war years, and a dugout exhibit helps recreate the picture of partisan life. The Hall of Railway Transport History tells about the creation of the Novosokolniki railway junction and presents exhibits that allow you to imagine the life of railway workers.
