\r\nPrimorsko-Akhtarsky Local History Museum was opened in 1962 and has since undergone extensive development. In 2002 it received the status of a municipal cultural institution, and in 2013 — the status of a municipal autonomous cultural institution. The exhibitions present information about nature, paleontology and archaeology, Stone Age art, notable local figures, the history and culture of the Kuban Cossacks, and the merchant class. The museum is actively engaged in research and educational activities and takes part in festivals and international cultural events. The museum's collection comprises 6,431 storage units, including 5,354 items of the main collection and 1,077 items of the scientific and auxiliary collection. The majority of this collection consists of photographs, documents, ethnographic objects, applied arts and numismatics, relics of the Great Patriotic War (World War II) and other items.
