Poltavsky District Museum of History and Local Lore
About museum
The museum was opened in 1993 and presents an interesting exhibition covering the nature and history of the Poltavsky district. Here you can see documentary materials on resettlement policies of the 19th-20th centuries, the process of settlement of the district and the history of its individual villages. The majority of settlers were Ukrainians, and their everyday life is presented in the exhibition as ethnographic complexes. You can also view materials on Soviet history, events during the Great Patriotic War (World War II) and postwar documents. The museum also has an art department displaying works by artists and contemporary decorative and applied arts. The total number of items in the museum's collection is 24,565.
