Krasnaya Presnya Culture and Recreation Park
About museum
Krasnaya Presnya is a monument of history and architecture, as well as an example of park art from the 18th–19th centuries. It was established in 1932 on the site of the Studenets estate. At the end of the 18th century the estate belonged to the Gagarin princes, who laid the foundation for the park's landscape style. In 1812 the estate passed into the possession of Moscow Governor-General A. A. Zakrevsky, who, under the guidance of architect D. Zhilyardi, built a memorial complex in memory of the heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812 and carried out reconstruction of the grounds. The park's natural ensemble has been preserved: old alleys, picturesque Dutch ponds with islands and arched bridges. A. Pushkin, D. Davydov and E. Baratynsky strolled along the park's alleys. Today Krasnaya Presnya is a place for the intelligentsia to relax, where everyone can find something for themselves: a breath of fresh air, sports and developmental activities, and cultural leisure accessible to all.
