Parish school
About museum
In the Karginskaya stanitsa you can still see the parish school where M. A. Sholokhov studied in 1912-1914. It is part of the Karginsk memorial-historical complex of the museum-reserve, opened on December 27, 1875. Here you can see the memorial classroom of 1912-1914 with a three-seat desk in the first row by the door where Sholokhov sat. In the halls of the parish school there is an exhibition 'My school path...', dedicated to the upbringing and education of children in a Cossack family, the development of public education and the Soviet school. You can also see documents about M. A. Sholokhov's transfer of his Lenin Prize for the novel 'Virgin Soil Upturned' in 1960 for the construction of a new school in the Karginskaya stanitsa. Visitors can take part in interactive activities at the exhibition.
