About museum
On May 7, 2010, the 'Orenburg People's Museum of the Defenders of the Fatherland named after General M. G. Chernyaev' was opened. Since its opening, 726 guided tours have been conducted for more than 18,000 visitors. The museum also organized and held six international scientific-practical conferences titled 'Russia — a Great Power. History and Modernity', which resulted in the publication of five collections of proceedings. More than 280 people participated in the conferences. Admission to the museum and signing up for tours are free, and some exhibits can be handled or tried on. Photography in the museum is also free.
