The museum-reserve is a historical-natural and architectural-landscape complex that includes exhibitions and monuments of history, culture and nature. A distinctive feature of this site is the unique architectural and landscape ensemble of the town of Ples and its surroundings. At present, the Ples Museum-Reserve consists of four divisions: the I. I. Levitan Museum, the Landscape Museum, the museum and exhibition complex "Prisutstvennye Mesta" and the exhibition "Art Crafts of the Ivanovo Region." The Levitan Cultural Center is also part of the museum-reserve. The museum's collection comprises over 20,000 storage units and more than 70,000 items. The museum is visited by approximately 150,000 people annually.
