Ivanteyevka City Park of Culture and Recreation

On June 12, 1966, the day of the elections to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the Ivanteyevka City Park of Culture and Recreation named after V. I. Lenin was opened. That day the park was filled with slogans and banners, brass bands, book kiosks, refreshment stalls and rides. Amateur art ensembles from all the city's cultural institutions performed on the stage. In the evening Lenin's lights were switched on and the merrymaking began, continuing until late at night. On the opening day the park was visited by 10,000 people, who warmly welcomed their hosts and the park established by all the city's residents.
