Nevinnomyssk Historical and Local Lore Museum
About museum
The Nevinnomyssk Historical and Local Lore Museum was founded on May 1, 1957, and at the time of its opening more than 500 exhibits had been collected. In 1965, by decision of the executive committee of the City Council of Deputies, a city museum of historical-revolutionary, military and labor glory was opened, and in 1968 it was granted the title of 'People's'. In 1978 a new building was allocated to the museum, and it became a branch of the Stavropol United Regional Museum. In 1995 the museum became an independent staffed unit under the city committee for culture. It is located in a separate building in the city center that used to be the House of Celebrations. The museum has three halls: a display hall (presenting the history of the city), an exhibition hall and a foyer. The museum also conducts tours and lectures for schoolchildren, students and military personnel.
